After being on hold for 45 minutes I finally got to the bottom of things with a customer rep.
He told me that 33% of the Xbox 360 that were produced have a serious problem when the motherboard reaches a certain temperature, causing some solder balls to lose contact with the GPU and motherboard.
He said if I wanted to get it fixed I would have to pay out of pocket $140 + shipping/Handling. I then went on to ask him how long it would take to get my 360 back, there was a short pause...Its takes 3-4 weeks sir...
That's CRAP! I expected better service from microsoft... Then...
After hanging up with the microsoft rep I decided to a little research on Google to see if anyone had Repaired their XBOX 360 red ring of death.
